Just to clarify if you have go through school differently:
On the first day, the teacher assigned a big essay writing, but did not assign it as homework. For the next few days, the teacher did not say homework because he didn't assign anything on that day, except for the essay that is assign last class and will due in a long time. What consider as homework is any work that is assigned in class.
